The Pennsauken Flyers beat the Monongahela Monsters, 7-6, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Pennsauken first baseman Joe Johnston had an outstanding performance. He was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Manuel Bernal, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 1. David Arnold was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.

Johnston had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Jed Knight, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Flyers a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Johnston.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Pennsauken manager Dave Morse.

Monongahela drops to 4-5.
