5-4 Loss Extends Long Island Losing Streak
|
Voodoo right fielder Iván Garza left his mark on his team's 5-4 win over the Long Island Lighthouse. Garza, who is tied for 2nd in the PL in RBI with 27, went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for New Orleans in the contest. J.J. Hebert, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. The current losing streak for Long Island has reached 6 games.
Garza had a timely hit for New Orleans in the top of the sixth. With New Orleans trailing 3-2, he turned a 0-1 slider into a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 4-3, New Orleans.
"We're producers not directors," said Garza. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."
