Brass Come Up Short at Jersey City, 7-6
The Baton Rouge Brass and Jersey City Tritons provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Jersey City Tritons overcame a pretty good performance by Baton Rouge designated hitter Carlos Román, beating the Brass, 7-6, at Jersey City Grounds. Román went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Greg Kirkpatrick finished the game for Jersey City and earned his 4th save.

Jing-zhong Ng chipped in for Jersey City, stroking a crucial 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the third baseman was 1-3. He drove in 3 runs.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ng. "And not try to do too much."

With the win, Jersey City goes to 7-4.
