Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds and Nashville Hot Chickens.

The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds faced a tough opponent in Nashville pitcher Cash McBride, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hot Chickens Park by a final score of 5-3. McBride went 5 innings and allowed no runs. The win brings the Fighting Dachshunds to 7-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Ellenburg used a clutch at-bat from Carlos Manuel to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Fighting Dachshunds ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Manuel.
