The Baton Rouge Brass bested the Jersey City Tritons, 7-4, at Jersey City Grounds. Domingo Gómez was one of the standouts. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Kevin Webb went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The left-hander struck out 8 and walked 3. With the win, he ups his record to 2-1 this season. Tetsu Gato earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.

With Baton Rouge leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Gómez batted against Jersey City pitcher Nathan Sims. Gómez hit a cutter to left for a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Brass on top, 6-0.

"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Gómez.

The Tritons, at 3-9, have stumbled out of the gate.
