Hot Chickens Handed 7-4 Loss by Ellenburg
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds defeated the Nashville Hot Chickens, 7-4, at Hot Chickens Park. Leading the charge for Ellenburg was first baseman Lou Pennington. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. David O'Farrell, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held the Hot Chickens to 4 runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The Hot Chickens, now 4-8, continue their slow start.
Pennington had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch curveball from Mario Rosales, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Fighting Dachshunds a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Pennington.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Pennington.
