Athletic Club KC Reserves starter Al Ivey pitched a strong game against the Tortolita Drummers at Drummers Ballpark, leading the Reserves to victory, 6-3. In 6.1 innings, Ivey surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Carlos Piñeiro recorded the save for Athletic Club KC, his 3rd of the season.
Athletic Club KC used a big swing from Christiaan Bunschoten to get the win. The first baseman walloped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Reserves up, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"I liked our effort," said Reserves manager Melvin Henry.
The loss makes Tortolita 4-8.
