Thunder Score Late to Beat Stingers, 5-4
|
The Toronto Thunder knocked off the Toledo Stingers, 5-4, in United States Premier League action at Thunder Field. Toronto pitcher and Valdosta, Georgia, native Brandon Fox had an outstanding performance. The third-place Stingers dropped to 19-14.
Jim McDavid was the walk-off hero for Toronto. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunder right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Toledo manager David Bunting.
