Stingers Spill Thunder, 6-3
|
The Toledo Stingers dealt the Toronto Thunder a 6-3 loss at Thunder Field. Elijah Smalls was the star on offense. He went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Sam Myers closed out the game, earning his 9th save. The setback makes Toronto 11-22.
Viet Long provided a timely hit. The Toledo right fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stingers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Nervous? No," said Long. "It was my time to shine."
