Philadelphia turned a fine outing from starter Roland Jamison into a victory over the Montreal Machine at Liberty Reserve Stadium. The final score was 5-2. Jamison, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The win moves Philadelphia to a record of 8-6.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Liberty Reserves second baseman Manny Coronado hit a sinker from David Ramos for a 2-run double. Just like that, Philadelphia was up, 2-1.
"Roland's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Philadelphia manager Kiril Neuvel.
