Machine Beat Liberty Reserves in 11
|
The Montreal Machine and Philadelphia Liberty Reserves needed extra innings at Liberty Reserve Stadium to determine a winner.
Bartolo Rojas did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves from losing the game, 6-3, to the Montreal Machine in 11 innings at Liberty Reserve Stadium. Rojas was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Philadelphia now has a record of 8-7.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Dylan Bettinson? The 29-year old left fielder Bettinson stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put Montreal up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Philadelphia manager Kiril Neuvel.
