Pajaritos Lose to Brass in Walk-Off

Norfolk got a big-time effort from pitcher Jesús Sánchez, but it wasn't enough to keep the Baton Rouge Brass from winning the game, 3-1. Sánchez threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The winner was Baton Rouge reliever Earl Alaniz, now 2-0. The loser was Román Bastardo. Baton Rouge, at 12-3, has sizzled in the early going.
Baton Rouge got a clutch hit from Moumen Elsayad. The pinch hitter launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.
"The crowd was raucous," said Elsayad.
