Shredders Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win
The Hollywood Shredders weathered a fine game by Seattle left fielder Brian Orpen to upend the Rocketeers, 4-3, at The Hollywood Bowl. Orpen went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Hollywood reliever Skip Lewis picked up the win, raising his record to 4-2. Walt Stephens was tagged with the loss. The last-place Rocketeers dropped to 12-22.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Hollywood. That's when Kuniaki Yoshioka hit a 2-run home run off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Walt Stephens to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"It was a good effort all around," said Yoshioka.
