Flyers Win at Bakersfield, 7-4
|
The Pennsauken Flyers topped the Bakersfield Nobles, 7-4, in USPL Triple A action at Jerome Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Pennsauken pitcher and Ramona, California, native Rich Baker. The winner was Baker. He threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was David Sullivan. The Nobles fall to 6-9 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2063 season.
Brody Peck cracked a home run off David Sullivan in the top of the first. His 3-run blast put the Flyers on top, 3-0. In all, Peck had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"I'm happy we won," said Baker. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
