The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at Atlantica, dropping the Buffalo White Walkers, 3-1. Mitsuo Yoshida, who is tied for 10th in the PL with a 7.7 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. In 8 innings, Yoshida surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The 'W' lifts Northern Virginia's record to 18-16.

The Rainbow Mermaids jumped ahead in the bottom of the first. With one out, José Mondragon, who is tied for 2nd in the PL in home runs with 8, hit a 2-run home run off Howard Randolph, putting Northern Virginia in front, 2-1. For Mondragon, it was his 8th home run of the season.
