Montreal Earns 2-1 Win
|
The Bakersfield Nobles got a sterling performance from pitcher Sanya Matlah, but the Montreal Machine still prevailed, 2-1. Matlah threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loss makes Bakersfield 7-9.
José Sánchez's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning was a big one for Montreal. Coming to bat with two out, a runner on 2nd and Montreal trailing 1-0, the designated hitter hit a run-scoring single.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Montreal manager Alfonso Vera.
