Joel Woodard pitched well, but his team, the Athletic Club KC Reserves, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park. The winner in relief was Paul Glover. The right-hander allowed 1 run on no hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. Picking up the save was Sergio Lugo, his 3rd.

Had Juan Martínez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Martínez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Flyers.

"We were in it," said Athletic Club KC manager Melvin Henry. "We just didn't score enough runs."

The Reserves drop to 6-10.
