Ellenburg wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Tazz Jones, falling to the Syracuse Starks, 5-2. Jones threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Syracuse reliever Robbie Stanley picked up the win to move to 1-1. Pedro Hernández suffered the loss. The Fighting Dachshunds fall to 7-9 and continue their uneven start to the 2062 season.

Syracuse went up, 5-2, on Efren Agpalasin's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Agpalasin hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Ellenburg pitcher Pedro Hernández shaking his head.

"It was a solid team effort," said Agpalasin after the game.
