Flyers Win Thriller, 6-4
|
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
The Pennsauken Flyers had to overcome a fine effort from Bakersfield pitcher José Zamora to win, 6-4, at Pennsauken Park. Zamora went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Pennsauken reliever Claudio Cortés picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Harvey Caldwell was saddled with the loss.
Pennsauken got a clutch hit from Juan Saucedo. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was game-ender.
"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Saucedo.
With the win, Pennsauken improves its record to 9-8.
