Cruz Lifts Starks to Win
|
Syracuse used a superb performance from starting pitcher Gilberto Cruz to down the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 6-1. Ellenburg now is 10-8.
Cruz pitched a complete game for Syracuse. The 24-year-old right-hander was charged with 1 run on 2 hits. He struck out 8 during his 89-pitch performance.
"Gilberto did a good job of shutting their lineup down," said Syracuse manager Homer Robertson.
