Baton Rouge used a superb performance from starting pitcher Adam Johnson to down the Pennsauken Flyers, 5-1. Juan Pacheco was credited with the save for Baton Rouge, his 1st of the season. Baton Rouge, now 11-7, has played well in the early going.

Baton Rouge won the game in part because of Carlos Román. The designated hitter ripped a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Brass ahead, 3-0. For the game, Román had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

Said losing manager Dave Morse: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
