Rocketeers Earn Late 3-2 Win
The Seattle Rocketeers had to overcome a good performance from New Orleans pitcher Soong-yong Yi to claim a 3-2 win at The Voodoo Lounge. Yi went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Seattle reliever George Boyce picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Phil McKinley was tagged with the loss. Bill Hayes collected save number 9.

Seattle needed the clutch hitting of Joe Johnston to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rocketeers on top, 3-2. For the game, Johnston had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Johnston called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
