Mal Edwards never let Baton Rouge get something going. The Ellenburg right-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Fighting Dachshunds to a 3-1 win. Sancho Sánchez earned the save for Ellenburg. Baton Rouge falls to 11-8.
Aloysius Minch, the 3rd overall pick in the 2056 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Minch contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Ellenburg up, 3-1.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Edwards.
