The Toledo Stingers got a marvelous performance from pitcher Mark Garland. The left-hander kept the Boston offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 7-0 Toledo victory at Pacesetter Park. Mark Garland closed out the game, earning his 1st save. With this game in the books, Toledo is 23-13, Boston 19-17.

Toledo designated hitter Pat Wallace landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. It was his 7th home run of the season. With it, the Stingers took a 3-0 lead.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Garland.
