Drummers Lose By a Run at Sacramento
Fans watched the Sacramento Redlegs and the Tortolita Drummers fight to the finish.

The Sacramento Redlegs scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Tortolita Drummers at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Sacramento pitcher Josh Barnette held his own in the contest. Barnette got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Maxwell Security picked up the save, his 1st.

Ray Harden, who is tied for 4th in the PAAA in RBI with 17, came through for Sacramento with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.

"If we keep winning the close games," Harden said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."

No one expected much of this team, but the hot start by Sacramento might have some re-evaluating their pre-season predictions. This latest win lifts their record to 13-7.
