Flyers Cut Down Redlegs, 5-1
|
Pennsauken Flyers starter Jesús Sánchez hurled his team past the Sacramento Redlegs, 5-1. In 5.1 innings, Sánchez surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Losses have been rare for the Redlegs, who are now 14-6.
The Flyers got an important contribution from left fielder Reinaart Zegers, who in the top of the fifth hit a curveball to left-center for a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Flyers ahead, 2-0.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Sánchez. "Successful pitchers do it."
