Blitzkrieg Get Past Pennsauken, 2-1
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg earned a close win over the Pennsauken Flyers, thanks in part to Derek Cammack. The Port Huron right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The Blitzkrieg now have a mark of 9-12.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Alejandro Rivera came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Pennsauken pitcher Juan Torres, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Port Huron on top, 2-1.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Rivera told the Port Huron Observer.
