The Montreal Machine and Bakersfield Nobles played an entertaining game for Jerome Grounds patrons.

The Montreal Machine defeated the Bakersfield Nobles, 5-4, in USPL Triple A action at Jerome Grounds. Montreal pitcher Lance Leslie had a standout performance. Leslie yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-3.

The Machine got an important contribution from catcher Ray Carr, who in the top of the fourth hit a cutter to left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Machine ahead, 2-0.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Leslie.

The 9th-place Machine own a record of 7-14.
