The Philadelphia Liberty Reserves faced a tenacious opponent in Monongahela pitcher José Contreras, but still scratched out a win at Timber Hawks Ballpark by a final score of 7-6 in 10 innings. Contreras went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The winner was Philadelphia reliever Fred Briggs, now 1-0. The loser was Tetsu Gato. Philadelphia has now won 4 games in a row.

Philadelphia used a timely hit from Quincy Audley to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Liberty Reserves ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
