Hot Chickens Absorb 6-1 Home Loss
|
Brass shortstop Brad Vaughn put his stamp on his team's 6-1 win over the Nashville Hot Chickens. Vaughn went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs for Baton Rouge in the contest. Freddy Hernández got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 4.2 innings. Baton Rouge, at 15-8, occupies second place in the Premier AAA.
Baton Rouge won the game in part because of Pepe Santos. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Brass ahead, 2-0. For the game, Santos had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Santos told the Baton Rouge Today.
