4-0 Mockingbirds Win over Voodoo Evens Season Record
|
The 3-hit performance of James O'Neal helped the Memphis Mockingbirds beat the New Orleans Voodoo, 4-0. The winner in relief was Guy Fontaine. He is now 2-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Memphis is 19-19 and New Orleans, with the loss, 21-17.
In the bottom of the second inning, catcher Carlos Gómez had a 2-run home run for Memphis. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Mockingbirds on top, 2-0.
Gómez told a Memphis Chronicle reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
