The Sacramento Redlegs beat the Norfolk Pajaritos, 4-1. Sacramento pitcher and Seto, Japan, native Yoshitaka Shinohara led the way. Wang-fen Jia earned his 5th save, after closing out the game. The victory gives Sacramento a record of 12-12.

The Redlegs got an important contribution from third baseman Jorge Martínez, who in the top of the third hit a forkball to right for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Redlegs ahead, 3-0.

"Watch and learn," said Martínez. "This is what good pitching looks like."
