Liberty Reserves Win Streak Reaches 6
|
Lee Wood pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Monongahela Monsters, despite Wood's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Franklin Vaughn. He's now 4-1. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Liberty Reserves. Peter Smith wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
Jesse Miller, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA with a .422 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Miller contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put Philadelphia up, 3-0.
"I believe in our guys," said Philadelphia skipper Kiril Neuvel. "I like the energy they're playing with."
Philadelphia has a record of 15-9, placing them second in the Premier AAA.
