Machine Lose to Baton Rouge, 5-2
|
Baton Rouge pitcher Kevin Webb did his part in helping his team defeat the Montreal Machine, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Anthony Bailey picked up the save for Baton Rouge, his 7th of the year. The 5th-place Brass go to 12-12.
Baton Rouge used a clutch hit from Johnathan Erickson to get the win. The shortstop drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Brass ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Baton Rouge skipper Luis Ruíz.
