Sánchez Excels, But Brass Win
Despite a great performance by Syracuse designated hitter Carlos Sánchez, the Baton Rouge Brass defeated the Starks by the score of 8-6 at Brass Field. Sánchez hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Will Gordon earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-1. Baton Rouge has now won 5 straight.

Will Nolan took Syracuse hurler Wan-hua Yi deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Brass on top, 8-6. In all, Nolan had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
