Good production from shortstop Wyatt Hathaway helped the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys topple the Baton Rouge Brass, 9-3. Hathaway went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Squirrel Monkeys. The save went to Volmer Aalbers, his 2nd this season. The current losing streak for Baton Rouge has reached 4 games.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Emmett Fairchild to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hathaway told the Syracuse Herald. "It's as simple as that."
