Felipe de Rade had a good game, but he could not keep the Yakima Hops from falling, 6-5, to the Ottawa Fat Cats at Nationals Park. The Yakima designated hitter went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 in the loss. Ottawa reliever Francisco Valenzuela picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Myron Downs was tagged with the loss. After losing, Yakima is 1-1.

The Fat Cats got a clutch hit from left fielder Curt Clayton. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Fat Cats.

"This place was jumping at the end," Clayton said.
