Brian Wayland of Yakima easily handled the Richland Rails, stopping them on 2 hits and chucking a complete-game 7-0 shutout.
"He really did a job on us," said Richland manager Ludovic Fontaine. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us."
He finished the game with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in a solid outing.

Farmers Bennett Out Rest Of Season

The Lancaster Farmers were dealt a blow today when starting pitcher Garry Bennett left the game with an undisclosed injury. The team has now revealed that Bennett has suffered a stretched elbow ligament and will most likely miss the rest of the season as a result of the injury.
Bennett has made 11 starts so far this year and put up a 2-4 won-lost record with a 3.15 ERA. In 60 innings he has allowed 63 hits, walked 19 and struck out 46.
