The Baton Rouge Brass and Syracuse Starks obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
The Baton Rouge Brass bumped off the Syracuse Starks, 7-6, at Brass Field. Brad Vaughn hit 2 singles and 1 double. He also had 4 runs batted in. Jorge Carranza earned the win for Baton Rouge. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1.
Vaughn had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count fastball from Jorge Vázquez, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Brass a 4-3 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Vaughn.
"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Brass manager Luis Ruíz.
