The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds did just enough to sneak past the Jersey City Tritons, 4-3, at Jersey City Grounds. Ellenburg pitcher Marvin Glendenning, in particular, had a standout performance. Javier Vargas, now 2-2, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. With the win, Ellenburg raised its record to 15-13.

Juan González came through with a big-time hit for Ellenburg. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Jersey City manager John Sirica, "let me know."
