bin Abbud Stands Out in Montreal Shutout
Fans at Stade Olympique witnessed the Montreal Machine blank the Baton Rouge Brass, 8-0, on the strength of a superb effort from starter Akil bin Abbud. The Montreal right-hander allowed 5 hits in recording the shutout.

"Akil was good today, but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," Montreal manager Alfonso Vera said. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it."
