Nobles Suffer 3-0 Road Loss
|
The Norfolk Pajaritos picked up a win at Norfolk Field, dropping the Bakersfield Nobles, 3-0. George Hill, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in quality starts with 4, was the difference-maker. Hill got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed no runs. The 6th-place Pajaritos sport a record of 13-15.
Enrique Cruz had a big solo home run for the Pajaritos in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Norfolk leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Han-soo Yang, who is tied for 3rd in the PAAA with a 0.89 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Pajaritos on top, 2-0.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Hill.
