Sullivan Now 1-0 After Subduing Flyers
|
Spirited fans greeted the Pennsauken Flyers for their clash with the Bakersfield Nobles.
Pennsauken had no answer for 34-year old right-handed pitcher David Sullivan. The Bakersfield Nobles starter stymied Flyers hitters, helping the Nobles cruise to victory, 6-0. With the win, Bakersfield pushed its record to 14-14.
In his 106-pitch effort, Sullivan allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8.1 innings. He walked 0 and struck out 5.
"David gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said Bakersfield manager Timmy Appeldoorn.
