Toronto starter Tai sun Rang put a stranglehold on the Buffalo offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Thunder to a 2-0 win. Rang yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-4. Ron Murphy closed the door for Toronto, picking up his 12th save of the year.

Toronto used a well-timed hit by John Matthews to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Thunder ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We've had a tough go of it," said Buffalo manager Chris Lau. "But we'll snap out of this funk."

The Thunder, now 24-16, have won 4 in a row.
