Starting pitcher William Nevárez gave the Jersey City Tritons a rock-solid effort. The Beebe, Arkansas native helped his team defeat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 2-0, at Jersey City Grounds. The Tritons now have a record of 14-15.

Lawrence Boone had a big solo home run for the Tritons in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Jersey City leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from 38-year old left-handed pitcher Fernando Ríos and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Tritons on top, 2-0.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Nevárez.
