Led by Alan Malone, the Bakersfield Nobles defeated the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 11-3. Malone went 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice for the Nobles. Bakersfield starter Nick Johnston was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. Port Huron's current losing streak has reached 4 games.

Malone contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Bakersfield in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-0, Malone took a sinker from Steve Stewart and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Nobles to leap in front, 4-2.
