Tritons Drop Fighting Dachshunds, 3-2
|
Jersey City Grounds was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Jersey City Tritons and Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds.
Joseph Campbell pitched well, but the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Jersey City Tritons at Jersey City Grounds. Nathan Sims claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Augusto Gonzáles earned save number 12 this season.
Making an impact for the home team was Tom Lambert. In the bottom of the first, the 30-year old second baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-0, Tritons.
"Winning never gets dull," said Lambert.
With the win, Jersey City pushed its record to 19-11.
