Flyers Suffer 4-2 Home Loss
Bakersfield registered a win at Pennsauken Park by beating the Pennsauken Flyers, 4-2. Pitcher Cordell Dawson was one reason why the Nobles triumphed. Dawson picked up the win for Bakersfield, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Ed Dodman sewed up the save, his 6th.

Tied up with the Flyers in the top of the fifth inning, the Nobles got a boost from shortstop Sotaro Hayagawa. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Hayagawa saw a 0-2 slider from Bob McCann and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Bakersfield on top, 3-1.

Bakersfield manager Timmy Appeldoorn called it "a good, solid win."

Bakersfield now sits at 15-15, while Pennsauken falls to 13-17.
