With 3-1 Win, Fighting Dachshunds Go to 17-14
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds and the Nashville Hot Chickens, Mal Edwards, who is tied for 4th in the PAAA with a 0.94 WHIP, was the difference-maker. The Ellenburg right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Edwards, now 3-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. Earning his 9th save for Ellenburg was Jody Dunn.
Juan González, who is tied for 9th in the PAAA in RBI with 16, helped out the Ellenburg cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"Credit where credit is due," said Edwards, "this was a team win."
The win elevated the Fighting Dachshunds to 17-14.
