|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Norfolk Pajaritos and the Pennsauken Flyers. Norfolk won it, 2-1. Norfolk starter Warren Evans was in command. The winning pitcher was Evans, now 3-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Mario Pérez closed out the game, earning his 4th save.
Ken Byrd, who leads the PAAA in triples with 2, had a direct impact on the outcome. Byrd contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Norfolk up, 2-0.
"Every loss hurts," said Pennsauken manager Dave Morse. "But this was a tough one."
Norfolk now sits at 15-17, while Pennsauken falls to 21-11.
