Rainbow Mermaids Jolt Shredders, 4-2, with Late Rally
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at The Hollywood Bowl, knocking off the Hollywood Shredders, 4-2. On the mound for Northern Virginia was right-hander Noud Taaij. He played a key role in the triumph. With the win, the Rainbow Mermaids improved to 20-20.

Ramón Galló, who led the PL in triples with 6 in 2059, helped out the Northern Virginia cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 2 with a triple.

Taaij said his team "played with determination."
