The Montreal Machine weathered a fine game by Monongahela first baseman Ken Ball to upend the Monsters, 8-6, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Ball belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Monongahela has now lost 13 in a row.

Bing-zhang Fan provided a timely hit. The Montreal third baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Machine on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"I told my wife I'm not changing my underwear again until we win," said losing manager Andrés Pérez. "I haven't seen her since last Tuesday."
