The Port Huron Blitzkrieg beat the Calgary Lynx, 2-0, at Port Huron Park. Starting pitcher Eric Morris was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Morris got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 0 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Rabi Tamir got credit for the save for Port Huron. It was his 10th of the year.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Minoru Sakata didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Calgary trailing 2-0, Sakata retired Stephan Tietmeyer to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Sakata, with a wink.

The triumph puts Port Huron at 19-15 for the season.
