The Jersey City Tritons earned a close win over the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, thanks in part to Marty Collins. The Jersey City right-hander, who is tied for 5th in the PAAA with a 2.01 ERA, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Collins got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The win makes Jersey City 18-18.

Jersey City used the timely hitting of Eric Sullivan to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tritons on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We put together a nice win," Sullivan said.
