Liberty Stumble, Lose to Rocketeers
|
Seattle shortstop Kenny Wilson was instrumental in helping the Rocketeers triumph, 8-4, over the Philadelphia Liberty. Wilson went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Rocketeers, at 24-17, have now won 4 straight.
Seattle center fielder Nick Watson contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Rocketeers ahead, 3-0.
Afterward, Philadelphia manager Geoff Matt said: "We've hit a rough patch."
